Kay Staley, HAU Member, Will speak at The April 20th Humanists of Houston Meeting

In 2003, Kay Staley filed (and won) a lawsuit against Harris County, contesting the Bible Monument which was on display at the Harris County Courthouse in downtown Houston. She also later filed a lawsuit against the Houston City Council for the practice of holding prayers at City Council meetings. For her efforts in fighting for the Constitutional separation of church and state, Kay was awarded with the Freethinker of the Year award by the Freedom From Religion Foundation in 2008.
